RAIN... RAIN...RAIN...

Rain all day... that about sums it all up.

My sister requested that today's outfit be full of color. Ask and you shall receive!  So here you go Kate... color just for you! :)

However, at work, people had mixed feelings about my outfit. Some liked it while others said "rushing spring a bit huh?" First of all... it is spring! And secondly... I may be wearing color and a skirt with a floral pattern but seriously guys, I am also wearing tights and boots!!! So say or think whatever you'd like people - I felt cute!

Keeping my post short today. I went to the eye doctor after work to get some awesome prescription sunglasses and the doctor dilated my eyes--- they look creepy to me --- and everything is still a little fuzzy which makes it hard to type. Anyways... It will wear off soon and then I can watch the musical episode of Grey's Anatomy. I admit it...I watch that show and cry at almost every episode and I ain't ashamed!!

Crazy tights brighten a cloudy day...

Today the sun was hiding behind the clouds all day. On days like today I try to wear bright colors to contrast the dreary day, but today I said screw it and threw on my oldest and best worn in boots and favorite cardigan.

I work in a building in a room without windows - blah! My point is that I never really have to dress for the weather because I am only outside for about 5 minutes a day. However at work, even in the dead of winter they have the air conditioner blowing on full so no matter what outfit I pick out I always have to factor in some sort of sweater or cardigan. Good thing that one of my favorite things is cardigans! I must own at least 20 in different colors and styles. I know I know... excess. But I just never feel like you can have too many cardigans, especially black ones.

These are my favorite boots. They have been everywhere with me. I can't remember where I bought them but it was back in 2004 and at the time they were a huge splurge (probably only $20). They have traveled to mulitple states and countries with me and only recently have they begun to show wear and tear. Now that is a good pair of boots! I just can't stand to part with them. They have too many memories associated with them. Is that crazy to keep a pair of shoes just because you remember everywhere you walked in them the second you put them on?!

These tights were purchased during my semester abroad in Rome. They came from a tiny little shop that only sold tights.... It was the best store in Roma - second only to the store that sold gelato!

This is my go-to winter coat. It was purchased at Target 2 winters ago for only $11. I was drawn to it because it has a beautiful teal lining. The same day I also bought it in tan with a fuchsia lining, but silly me I returned it thinking that the 11 dollars was more important than an amazing winter coat. I kick myself when i think about it now.

And So It Begins...

Well HELLO there world! Emily Kyle here of Buttons & Bobbins! Welcome to my little world of fashion. I will save the introductions for later but I do have to explain in a reader digest type way the reason behind my blog...

So after over a year of reading random fashion blogs and becoming near obsessed... I have decided to take my obsession to a whole new level. Introducing... drum roll please... my own blog!! I have been contemplating doing this for some time - probably back to August this past year.

Sitting at my desk at work today I found myself taking every single break time to look over my favorite bloggers sites and I thought - today is the day - a random Tuesday seems like the right day to start a blog! So here we go... fingers crossed that this lasts more than a few posts.

So I didn't think that today was gonna be the start day for blogging so this outfit may be a let down. But hey... it was sunny outside- somewhat warm and my awesome boyfriend was willing to take photos of me...so good enough for me!

Shadow puppets are the best!

I am in love with these boots! I just got them on the clearance rack at DSW this weekend. Gotta love a good shoe sale! They are amazing because they can be worn folded down (like shown) or up and laced up the whole way. Super comfortable. I am just glad I had a chance to wear them before the weather gets too warm.
