Shoe of the Week

So I have decided to make every Thursday a shoe day.  I will post my newest shoe obsession... mostly because I do a lot of online shopping for shoes and I dream of owning them all (which equals a lot of shoe obsessing.)

This week's shoe comes from Sam Edelman and it is AMAZING!

I have been eyeing these shoes for over a year and never bought them because it is rare for me to need a pair of 4 inch pumps. I thought I had them out of my mind until this past weekend when my friend Moharter and I finally had a chance to hang out and we went shopping. Big mistake... bigger mistake was trying one on. I slipped the display onto my foot and the rest was a lovely dream. I proudly showed a lot of restraint and put the shoe back and walked away fast. I really should put my blinders on when I walk thru the Nordstrom shoe department.

Solestruck is selling these shoes right now in a couple different colors... but my favorite is still the black with the silver studs.

I love these pumps to much because they are the perfect mix of sophisticated sexy and tough!
Go buy them now because they are selling fast!

Like an Oreo Cookie

This particular outfit and inspiration for all black and white shows off my inner fat kid. Let me explain..

When all else fails and you can't find inspiration anywhere else... look into the cookie jar and dress like an oreo! I think that will be my new favorite motto. Time to get it tattooed on my wrist right under "just breathe."  Oreos are only the best cookie ever made! My folks even mailed me some when I was living in Rome. That is how much I love them. Maybe to the point of obsession...

Which makes me sad because I want some right now and I don't have any in my apartment... nor do I have any milk... and what is an oreo without milk?!? Well it is still an amazing cookie--- especially if you put some peanut butter on it and eat a whole bag ... well now i am drooling.

Wow... that really proves that I do have a little chubby kid living inside of me... and he wants cookies!!!!

It is only Tuesday?!

I went thru the whole day thinking it was Wednesday. sigh. That has to be one of the worst feelings ... to think you are closer to a weekend... or in my case.. a whole week off!!! I can't believe I have a vacation coming up--- well more of a stay-cation. But it is a break from work which means that no matter where I will be I will doing a happy dance!!

One thing that made this Wednesday Tuesday better was a little surprise from a co-worker today.

I walked into work this morning and before I could even turn on my computer my co-worker walked up to me and handed me a necklace.  Why you ask? I have no idea. I thought she was just showing it to me, but she kept saying "from my country... from my country..." (Which at the moment I was too embarrassed to ask what country that was... I think Honduras.)  Anyways.... it was a sweet and random surprise and strangely enough it matched my outfit perfectly. It was almost as if she had been holding on to it waiting for the day where I could immediately wear it.

Now if only I knew the reason that she felt the need to give me a gift.  I'm just special I guess. :)

Crazy Awesome

That crazy awesome Jeffrey Campbell has done it again... and has created this week's shoe obsession.

With the unique shape and fun color combos, he has designed a shoe that makes me wish my credit card didn't have a limit.

For now I will just have to watch these beauties from afar. I really wish they sold more of his shoes in stores. Sometimes all it takes is for me to try on the shoe for the obsession to die... however that has been know to  backfire and I have come home with the shoes that I was "just trying on."

What can I say?! I am a shoe addict!!

Jai Ho!

Wow, I feel like I haven't posted in forever. But fear not readers... just because I wasn't blogging doesn't mean I have been walking around naked. I fear that would draw the wrong kind of attention at work.

So instead of naked... I opted for some simple outfits. Both consist of shirts from India. Both gifted to me and both super amazing and easy to wear.  I wish I had them in every color of the rainbow.

It seems like last week was totally Indian inspired... I wore the basically the same outfit two days last week... that is what happens when I am lazy and wait til the morning to pick out an outfit... I draw inspiration from the outfit of the day before...deal with it!!!

They Said Their I Do's

Congratulations are in order for the happy couple... Congrats Rachel and Kevin "Truck"!!! We are so happy for you.

The wedding was perfect. It was on the beach at sundown and was beautiful.

Here is a quick recap:

The walk in... Groom with Brian (best man)
with the coolest looking pastor ever... check out that faux-hawk.

The exchange of vows.

The first kiss...

They did it!!! Husband and wife!!!

The yummy cake! Beach theme... loved it!
Even the cake toppers are beach chairs.

The first dance.

Brian and me. I don't really like this photo--- like at all. But it is the only photo of us together from that night and it is the only outfit of me in my dress (Kohls - LC by Lauren Conrad brand). I had my hair all down and pretty when the night started, but the sea wind is a powerful thing so out came the scrunchees and up when the hair!

It was a beautiful wedding. Rachel and Kevin looked amazing and happy. I hope they had a great time and I wish them nothing but happiness for their many many years together.

Wish we could have stayed at the beach longer... but we had to go back to the real world. Sucks to be a "grown up" sometimes!

Toes in the Sand

I didn't mention anything about my outfit last post.

So here are some outfit shots we took while we were away. All from the first day so sorry about the boring repetition.

I wanted to wear something casual and cool but I also wanted to look a little dressy because we had the rehearsal dinner and party.

I realize now that I could have easily just changed, because I packed more than enough clothes to stay a week. I never like to say "I really wish I would have brought.... my outfit is just not complete without it!!"  I will never be that girl -- instead I will be the girl that has to bring three bags -- one full of 7 different shoe options because you just never know!

ps: Good thing I did bring extra shoes, because my always classic and expensive Old Navy flip flops broke at dinner. Super classy to make Brian wear my size 7 flip flops around a fancy restaurant--he is such a good guy to put up with me.

Dress: Kohls ELLE brand... love!!!
Sunnies: Ray-Ban
Tank: H&M
Shoes: Old Navy/Target
Purse: super old!! I think Burlington Coat Factory

Brian's Outfit:
All: American Eagle
(his style is so simple and perfect!)

Road-Trip

Flash back to a week ago today... and I would be 3 hours into an 8 hour road trip towards North Carolina.

Brian and I took a mini vacation last week to the Outer Banks for his best friend's wedding. I had no idea what to expect. I am not really a beach girl. I can handle it in small doses and mostly when it isn't too crazy hot outside... well it was crazy hot outside! (but luckily not as hot as the PA we were leaving behind)

I may not be a summer girl, but I do love to put my toes in the sand and let the waves wash over my feet as I slowly sink into the shore.

We got into town really late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. We woke up Thursday to a gorgeous day at the beach and we wanted to take full advantage of staying right on the shore. We went for a lovely and sweaty walk down the beach. This fully proved to me that I hate the beach in the summer.... I was sweating and my legs were burning from walking on the soft sand (how did David Hasselhoff do this for season after season of Baywatch?!)  I went ankle deep into the ocean and not an inch more.

Then I went back into the shade where my poor fair skin couldn't burn. Even with SPF 70 my skin was hurting.

It is not a road-trip without Sonic drinks and lots of bathroom stops!

The perk of being a passenger... putting your feet up!

Much much more peaceful than the Jersey Shore!

off came the shoes!

Due to a fire close by the whole sky was full of smoke and haze.
It smelled like a big campfire.

I love finding shells... my pockets were full by the end of the night.

We had a party on the beach to celebrate the soon to be couple. All of the family and friends in town showed up and we spent the night drinking and talking and catching ghost crabs (or in my case - running away from them!)

All in all... a great first day at the shore.
