Before the Weather Turned Cold

These photos are obviously from before winter hit. I found them on my computer from back in October... back when it was acceptable to wear flip flops. The weather is warm right now in PA--- 50 degrees at the end of January is unheard of, but still not warm enough to be sporting bare toes.

This was just a casual Saturday outfit. Nothing fancy, but I have to admit that I do love this entire look... it is a typical weekend ensemble for me. I am not the type of girl that dresses up to sit around my apartment or the type to put on heels to go grocery shopping. Maybe I could try and put forth that effort, but on a Saturday or Sunday you are lucky if you even see me out of my pajamas.

I know this isn't the season of sandals and flip flops, but since this is the first time my Rainbows have been on the blog I need to take a minute and discuss.

Since high school my girlfriends and even a few guys raved and went crazy over these flip flops. They owned pairs and pairs and worn them until they had a hole in the bottom. Obsessed and with nothing bad to say I finally bit the bullet and forked over 50 bucks on a pair of casual sandals. I was always an Old Navy flip flop kind of girl and spending this much on a pair of sandals made my heart drop.

However... Miss Rachel and Miss Megra... I have to admit that these flip flops are indeed very comfortable and worth the money. They form to your foot and have great arch support. So thank you ladies for your shoes advice... I love getting it instead of giving it sometimes!

Shoe of the Week

So at work we get 2 ten minute breaks a day and a half hour for lunch. All in all -- it isn't much free time in a 10 1/2 hour work day. We work on a set schedule with a bell that rings to tell us that it is officially time alloted for us to smoke or make phone calls, check our email or in my case - shop for shoes!! What else would I do with 10 minutes?!

A little background... this week's shoe of the week is a pair that stopped me in my tracks.  This past weekend I stopped at Nordstrom for a "quick" little shoe shopping trip - which quickly turned into a half hour process of the game 'which shoe fits better?' Poor Brian was in tow. Let me just say, what a trooper! Over 4 years together and he still sits silent in a chair while I ooohh and ahhh and try on a bunch of shoes. He knows the drill... "yes those are beautiful!" and "you totally deserve to treat yourself!"

Anyway, as I was walking into the store my shoe blinders failed me and I had to stop at the rack holding up these...

I reached for the orange pair and the suede felt like butter in my hands. Drooling started and I had to walk away before I made a fool of myself.

Well long story short, since that love at first sight moment I have been stalking these shoes during all of my breaks at work. I have gained a reputation at work for being a shoe-aholic. A title I am proud to accept.

I am currently hunting for the best deal and will have these bookmarked my desktop until they go on sale.

Who doesn't need a cute bootie in either bright orange or turq?

Where:  Nordstrom, Zappos, Endless... everywhere!

How Much: $119 (hence the looking for a sale price)

Shoe of the Week

These are practical, adorable and will someday soon be taking up room in my closet.

Where? They are sold out practically anywhere, but I found a few left at Nordstrom and Zappos.

How Much? $160.

These are shoes that will never go out of style. A simple ankle boot with a slight heel. The fringe adds a fun twist and with a brand like Sam Edelman, you know their quality will last for years.

So far I own 2 pairs of Sam Edelman shoes and both are not only comfortable, but also fantastic quality.

My heart still belongs to Jeffrey Campbell, but he has some competition!  Sam Edelman is slowly stealing my heart away through cute footwear.

I AM BACK.

Happy New Year to one and all!!
Hope the first 9 days of 2012 have been amazing for everyone!

I know that I have fallen away from the blogging world for a while and was slapped in the face with that realization when my sister texted me saying "I know what your New Years resolution should be... to blog again!"

I took a second to remember why I stopped in the first place. I had tons of photos to post from Fall and inspiration boards and links to amazing shoes. I had planned to do movie reviews and to do little write-ups about holiday shopping. But nope... none of those things happened. I still have all of those things and you will be seeing all of them (minus the Holiday shopping guides--- a little too late for that.)

After Halloween my life took a crazy spiral into busy time at work and the holidays. I was going to have a quick break from the blog.. a week or two tops but those weeks turned into months. Made me sad to see my little blog sitting there everyday unloved.

But fear not friends... just because I wasn't posting photos of myself all over the web, that doesn't mean I wasn't online shopping everyday and reading every fashion blog I could find searching for and soaking up all the inspiration I could.

New Year.... crazier life:

We have officially entered our busy season at work which means overtime and working every Saturday ... so to me that equals 'time to start blogging again.' Crazy right?!

Not so crazy! I need my fashion time!! This time of year leaves little time for me to do anything other than work. I leave my apartment at 6:15 in my morning and don't get home until a little after 6:30. Once I eat, play with the kitties and give a quick kiss to B I have no more time to do anything other than relax on the couch while I watch mind numbing t.v. (just got hooked on Big Bang Theory... amazing!) Anyway... Blogging will be that thing I force myself to do during that  t.v time in order to stay creative and involved in the fashion world. Sounds like a good plan to me.

This past Friday I finally got home from work and it was still daylight out. First of all it felt so good to have the sun on my face - soaking up the vitamin D, but I also didn't hesitate to take advantage of the few short sun soaked minutes. I took my first outfit photos in weeks and I made me realize how much I miss blogging. So... here I am! :)

Sorry that was super wordy--- I haven't typed in months remember... I have a lot to say!

Well here are a few photos....

Nothing fancy for the New Year. All old stuff. The shirt was actually a Missoni piece from Target which didn't fit right. I wore it for the photos and that was it. Back to the store it went.

I do wish that I had held onto it in order to style it a few different ways:

- Tucked into a pencil skirt.
-Belted with a bright red belt.
-Worn with high waisted flare jeans.
-Worn with black vest.
-Worn with any color cardigan...a pop of color!

Guess I wasn't feeling super creative this day because I stuck with the boring black and white. Ah, hindsight.
