Heat Wave

There is something so wrong about it being 100 degrees in PA in May.

Given it is the 31st of May but still... 100 degrees?!? Are you kidding me?!

I love my car until it gives me the sad news that it is 100 degrees outside!

I am not a summer girl. Not at all.
Short shorts and swim suits and sweat and sunburns?
Nah... give me scarves and sweaters and snow any day.

Relax

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Memorial Day weekend. This is the first time I have had three days off in a row for a while. Decided to come home to my parents house this weekend for some R&R and some good food.

The outfits of choice for a weekend like this are simple shirts (mostly tees) and jeans with either Toms or my moccasins. Around here people don't really dress too crazy and what is the point of getting all done up just to lounge around.

Warning ***pale bare legs ahead!*** put on sunglasses now!!

Now this is the life!!!

Meet Nigel -- he is our garden cat. Well behaved.. and at night he glows.

Mom relaxing a bit.

This is my newest purchase. Went to Kohl's yesterday with my dad (Yes I am one of the lucky few girls with a dad who will take her shopping) and found this adorable dress from the Lauren Conrad line.  The print is what caught my attention... aren't the little birds adorable?! I plan to add a cute belt to it and wear it to a summery beach wedding in June.

And the day would not be complete without a cat in a bowl and a family photo of us all trying on my Warby Parker glasses. Ah, it is good to be home.

Red and White

If you live in Philadelphia and care at all about sports... you just have to cheer for the Phillies! It is practically a law. Or you pretend to like sports in order to enjoy watching cute guys in tight pants... not saying that is me... not at all. :)

This was a birthday treat from Brian.  He took me to the Phillies game the night before my birthday. I love any reason to dress "in costume" as my coworker called it. I just like to dress for the occasion which means jeans and a borrowed Phillies t-shirt from my sister. I don't feel like this look is much a stretch from how I usually dress but people at work looked at me like I had four heads. I am really a jeans and t-shirt girl and this was my typical uniform for 4 years of college. There might not be a cardigan, but I do have on my trusty red Toms.

And don't be confused.... I am not Rollins although there is a striking resemblance.

Anyways...It was dollar dog night, Brian bought me a funnel cake, the rain held off and the Phillies won... I am an easy girl to please... it was an amazing birthday!

Jeans: Amerian Eagle "favorite boyfriend"
T-Shirt: GAP

Quarter Life Crisis

Today I turn 25.
Happy Birthday to me!

Kinda freaking out a bit. Time is just flying by so fast.

I'd like to hit a pause button please.

Even with my freak outs today has been a great birthday.

A good start to a 25th year.

3 Strikes & You're Out!

If at first you don't succeed... try try again.

Well I did. Today I redid my outfit from a few days back. The day of the many shoes and the rain.

Here is the effect of the three different pairs. I think my favorite is still the 3rd.
Jeffrey Campbell Lita's just make me so tall and happy!

Love that little pocket!

Steve Madden. Really old!

Three strikes and I'm Out? Were they all hits or misses?! I blame all the baseball on the brain from Brian playing MLB on his XBox as I write this. Well that and the fact that on Monday we are going to see another Phillies game. Yippee! Tis the season for baseball - and dollar-dog night!! :) I am gonna get my eat-on on Monday night!

Into the Woods

It is a beautiful sunny Saturday. I love days like these.

Don't let these photos fool you... Brian and I did go for a little walk - and by little I mean about 50 feet out of the car. And to be totally fair I should probably mention we were on our way back from the mall - I am quite the outdoors girl can't ya tell?! But it was a walk none the less and it was in the woods and it was beautiful!

As soon as we have another free day we are gonna go for a real walk thru this park. It is right behind our apartment complex so I have no excuse for not going there everyday.

This is my typical weekend outfit. Jeans off the floor and a quick and easy t-shirt.
Add a comfy pair of flats and ta-da... the perfect outfit! :)

Jeans: BDG Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Minnetonka
T-Shirt: GAP
Purse: deux lux from American Eagle

Isn't he handsome? And pretty awesome for pulling the car over to take a few photos!
And in case you were wondering he is wearing all American Eagle with his favorite Fossil sunnies.

Love him.

Indecisive

Decisions... Decisions....

Not really my thing. I either know 100% about something or I am never able to make up my mind. There is no in between.

Yesterday I could not pick what pair of shoes to wear. Shoe decisions at 6 in the morning are never the best. Which is why yesterday I went to work with 3 different pairs of shoes. Excessive!? Nah!

I started the day out wearing the pair in the center which I wasn't loving so around 9am I switched into the flats.
Then at lunch I tried to be a little bit daring and busted out my Litas (the ones on the right).  I loved them up until the skies opened up right when I was about to leave work. New suede shoes in the pouring rain?! Not in this lifetime!! I will only be a diva about a few things and ruining shoes is one of them!  I quickly put the flats back on for the rainy drive home. I know I seem shoe crazed, but shoes can really make or break your outfit -- so you gotta keep trying until you get it just right!

I did get a lot of "wait a minute -- you weren't wearing those earlier!" throughout the day.

My favorites turned out to be the Litas. They just added the right pop of drama to the outfit. But working in a factory doesn't really mix well with wearing 5 inch heels. I'm proud to say I didn't fall, but I was also made it so I didn't have to walk much. :) Gotta do what you gotta do for fashion.

Since it was pouring outside when I got home yesterday I wasn't able to take any photos of my outfit. Maybe at some point this weekend I can go back and take a few photos of the pieces to show the 3 different shoes with the ensemble. That way I will know better for the next time and I won't have to pack a duffle bag full of shoes for work!

Can't you just feel my confusion?!

Which pair to wear?!

Tribal

If I could wear anything tomorrow it would be all of this... plus pants.
I am really loving bold tribal inspired accessories right now. And I am dying to wear my Litas - only the sexiest 5 inch heels I will ever own.

I would add any of these beauties to my dream birthday wish list.

All Torn Up

Photo overload coming your way... simply because I love this shirt!!!

I have been waiting months to wear it - not sure why I do that. I buy something and they wait months to wear it. It has been hanging in my closet for months and then I recently moved it to the pile of clothes next to my bed which is the "next to be worn" pile. And then today was the day.

I am kicking myself that I waited so long to wear this because it is the most comfortable and unique shirt that I own. Thank you Free People for yet another addition to my wardrobe.

Rainy day... but the sun was trying to peek thru.
