Weeding Out the Closet

Quick post... not feeling 100%.

Even came home afterwork instead of going shopping with my girlfriend. You KNOW that I don't feel well when i turn down shopping!

Nothing special for the outfit selection for today. Dug all the way to the back of my closet for this outfit. All items that I haven't worn for a while. I think it is because it is all stuff I am not in love with.

This blog will be a great way for me to weed things that I don't love out my closet. I have wayyy too many clothes in my closet that I haven't worn for one reason or another and they are just wasting space. Like these jeans. I liked them when I bought them, but they are the type of jean that is tight of my legs and super loose around my waist. I have a belt on super tight to hold them up, but that ends up producing a pooch which no girls needs. I think these will be going into my goodwill bin to hopefully fit some other girl much better.

ARTWORK FOR MY FEET...

A pair of shoes can really make or break your day.

These shoes made me smile and happy all day. How can they not?! They are the cutest things anyone could ever put on their feet. Pencil shoes!! Crazy!! A little painful - I have the blisters to prove it - but worth it! Hopefully next time it is a little less painful because I see myself wearing these a whole heck of a lot.

The pencil shoes really inspired my whole look today. This whole outfit has been sitting next to my closet for over a month. I snatched these off of ModCloth before they sold out - thank god! But it is so annoying to buy adorable shoes in the middle of winter - I couldn't wait to wear them. Checked out the forcast and it was a little gift from the weather gods...today was somewhat sunny or at least there was no rain so I took advantage and busted these beauties out of their box.

I decided to go for a school look inspired outfit. This cardigan is from Urban and is so comfortable.  I did struggle with what to wear under it seeing as I typically reach for a t-shirt. After tearing my closet and dressers apart I thought I'd try something a little different and go for a ruffle button down shirt.

Went outside after work to take photos and the wind just really went crazy. Crazy intense wind is one of the big negatives of living on the 8th floor. I fear the building will blow over someday. My hair wasn't behaving for me at all today or really any day lately. I am in desperate need of a hair cut and when this happens I find myself always just throwing it up in a ponytail.  However, even a ponytail did not keep my hair from blowing every which way during the photos.  I guess I should just invest in a fun hat for situations like this.

Bet you wish you had these on your feet!!

Gave my feet a short break from the awesomeness of those shoes...
plus I love the feel of fake grass stuff under my feet.

Crazy hair.

By far my favorite snap. Looks like I am surfing the wind.
I let go of my hair for this shot and you can easily see how crazy the wind was outside.

STRIPES on STRIPES

Black and white stripes with a pop of red.

Went and picked up my new shades after work. The funny thing is that it really did not get sunny until I took my last photo and came inside. Then the sun came out from behind the clouds, but it was far too cold and windy to go back out there to take more photos. I am not crazy! The camera was sitting in a puddle on the table the whole time and kept blowing over and I love my camera too much to put it thru that again! With all the abuse I give it, I am surprised I get any decent snaps at all.

Anyways, I love my new sunnies!! I can't believe how clear everything is with my new prescription. Funny how a new pair of glasses after 4 years actually does make a difference. Crazy!

The last shot I took was just to show my view from my balcony. That is where I take all my photos against our brick wall. I love brick and how it somehow always seems to match every outfit.

SUNNY DAYS...

Not ready to trade in boots for sandals just yet.  Just not yet....

This outfit is just 100% my style. Well honestly my style changes daily, but if i had to pick one of my favorite comfortable styles then this would be it! Give me a cozy long button up, dark wash skinny jeans and a pair of comfy boots and I am sold. It is a struggle for me to not wear outfits like this everyday.

Let's Go Phillies!

Take me out to the ballgame...

This weekend was opening weekend for baseball. Now I won't pretend that I am a huge sports fan but I do love going to games and cheering on a team. Brian wanted to go out and see a game on opening weekend and so I jumped at the chance to join him. I haven't been to a Phillies game since I was little and my parents took me and my sister. It rained and I fell asleep.

Going as an adult was a lot different. And I had a blast. Be ready for a storm of photos.... here we go...

He was super excited --- headed into the city. All dressed in his Phillies attire.

Philly skyline.

I had to wear red for the event.

Jeans: Levi's
Shoes: Minnetonka
Stripe t-shirt: Gap
Phillies t-shirt: MLB attire by Victoria Secret
Coat: Old Navy

Pit stop to join friends. He just looked so good that I had to show him off.

Inside the park. I was like a little excited girl!

Before the game. We showed up an hour early to find a great place to stand. We had a great spot to stare at batter's butts! .... I mean, watch their form!

Beer and peanuts... need i say more?!

A sea of red and white. Home of the Philadelphia Phillies!

That big bell rings if there is a home run... sadly I did not get to see that yesterday. Guess I will have to go back.

City pride... on the drive home we passed the Cira Centre Building that displays the Phillies Logo in lights.

So all in all...

The temperature dropped and my feet went numb, but I had a blast and the PHILLIES WON!

APRIL

Friday was April Fools Day, but no one tricked me. I did try to stay off facebook for the day since as my friend Ellie said "it is hard to trust any relationship updates on April Fools Day."  I don't really understand the point of April Fools Day - I should really google the origin. Maybe next year.

It was cold and rainy and super windy. Made it difficult to take photos out on my 8th floor balcony alone. The camera kept shaking so I had to wait for Brian to come home to snap a few quick photos before the wind just became too much.

This outfit was my ideal Friday outfit for work. Comfortable. Leggings, boots, tunics and a super long cozy sweater. It was perfect for such a rainy day.

They say April showers bring May flowers which is awesome because not only do I love rainy days but I also love flowers. So win win!

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Target
Tunic: Kohls - Dana Buchman
