Photo overload coming your way... simply because I love this shirt!!!

I have been waiting months to wear it - not sure why I do that. I buy something and they wait months to wear it. It has been hanging in my closet for months and then I recently moved it to the pile of clothes next to my bed which is the "next to be worn" pile. And then today was the day.

I am kicking myself that I waited so long to wear this because it is the most comfortable and unique shirt that I own. Thank you Free People for yet another addition to my wardrobe.

Everyone has days like this I hope....

The days where you would rather wear a hoodie instead of heels.

Today was on of those days for me. I swear I picked out a really cute outfit last night including heels and cute accessories. Yet when I woke up this morning at 5:30 and could not bring myself to putting on tight fitting jeans and 3 inch heels. My inner tomboy was crying out for baggy jeans and my favorite hoodie and I obviously caved.

No regrets here...

The cute outfit will have to wait for another day.

Tough girl in pink plaid

Wow. I have been an awful blogger lately. I have been taking photos everyday I swear but then they have stayed on my camera.... until today! 

I'M BACK...and ready to overload you with photos.

I can not believe that May is already half over. May is one of my favorite months of the year - not just because it is my birthday month, but also because flowers are blooming, the rain is pouring, the temperate is cool and everyone is in a good mood because summer is right around the corner. 

Today was a cool rainy day. Fell asleep to a thunderstorm last night and could not be happier. I love this time of year. If i could make May last all year long I would. Now, if we could just get rid of pollen I would be a happy happy girl. 

But on a downer note... today is Monday...

Who else hates Mondays?! The only way to make it thru is to wear a fun outfit and look at it as one day closer to Friday. Today was the first day in a while that I  got off work at my normal time. It felt so nice to have an extra 2 hours in the day. Made the Monday blues not so bad.

This is such a normal outfit for me. Dark wash skinny jeans, a comfy oversized shirt and then one of my many pairs of moccasins.  All that is missing is my trusty cardigan.  All the ingredients for a perfect rainy Monday outfit.

Tomorrow is Tuesday --which is only a tiny bit better than Monday--trying to be a half glass full kind of girl.. trying!

birthday times 2

So 25 years ago today... God made two awesome decisions....

 First he created Rachel...

 and then he created Kristen.

Or the other way around.. I am honestly not sure who was born first. Not the point... the point is that today has not only one but two reasons to celebrate. Two more of my friends are hitting the quarter century mark.

 In my group of girlfriends I was always the youngest. I let all my friends tackle the birthdays first and let me know how it went. For example - 21st birthdays. I wasn't able to go out to celebrate any of theirs but for my birthday they were all there teaching me how to take the perfect shot - which I instantly became a pro at doing. Anyways... I am hitting my scary age this year. I have been waiting my whole life to be 24, but I never thought past 24. So being 25 is so foreign and scary to me. I never thought "where will I be when I'm 25?" That just seemed so old.  But it is creeping up fast. I guess the girls I met in 7th and 9th grades are growing up - tear tear. Well these birthday beauties don't look a day over 16. :) They are two of my best girlfriends and two of the coolest girls you will ever meet! :) Enough said!

A Day for Mom

Happy Mother's Day!!! 

I love this day... not because I am a mom -that wont happen for a long long time- but because my mom does so much and deserves at least one day.  Simply put...my mom is awesome and i'd be lucky if I turn into her someday.  

To celebrate my family all came to visit.  It was a nice relaxing day. We stayed in and ate an amazing lasagna that my mom had prepared. I did offer to make dinner but I am not the best cook and my mom is no idiot so she suggested she bring the food instead. However... I did make desert! Peppermint pattie brownies! :) so yummy!!!  3 sticks of butter and more cups of sugar than i'd like to admit --- and trust me I pretended it was fat free!!  It would have been a good day to wear stretchy pants!

Their visit would not be complete without a photo session. I love capturing a moment in a photo and everyone else just had to deal with it. My apartment... my rules!

This weekend went so fast. Back to work tomorrow...sad. Weekends should be much longer. If I ran the world I would make it so!!

the 5th of may

Happy 5th of May everyone.... which means nothing to me other than a reason to eat mexican food. And honestly I will celebrate any reason to eat tacos! 

I realize that I am so behind in posting. 

Work has been crazy. Lot of overtime which means that I haven't been putting a lot of thought or effort into picking out my outfits these past couple weeks. I basically pick what will be the most comfortable to sit in for 10 or more hours a day.  This mostly consists of baggy jeans, t-shirt and my always present cardigan. These three things have been making up almost all of my outfits.  I ask myself...Will this let me sit indian style in my chair?  If the voices in my head answer yes, then check! That is my outfit for the day. Easy as that. 

However simple isn't very exciting.  So snore of an outfit but pretty sunset. It is really a toss up. To post or not... post it is.

So no cinco de mayo would be complete without tacos. B and I made a Mexican feast (tacos from a box kit- I'm quite the chef) for dinner complete with margaritas.

I love TOMS.

They don't seem like much, but they are my favorite shoes. I have four pairs (excessive? - nah!) and these are my newest - a Christmas gift from Brian. It has finally been warm enough to wear them and they make my feet so happy! 

Go rush out and buy a pair.. do it! :)

I know I've been eyeing up a new pair... hopefully they will be on my feet soon!
